In short
hbd is a free app for remote birthday pages, wishes, photos, and live party chat. We collect only what we need to run that. We do not sell your personal information. This page explains what we store and why.
What we collect
- Account. Email address for sign-in (magic link / one-time code). Optional display name and avatar if you set them.
- Birthday pages you create. Title, honoree name, date, optional password hash, poster choice, card content, and photos you upload for the page.
- Guest activity. When you join a birthday: display name, wishes (text, photos, voice memos), party chat messages and attachments, and notification preferences if you opt in.
- Technical basics. Session cookies for staying signed in. Standard server logs (for example IP and user agent) may be processed by our hosting providers while the service runs.
How we use it
- Authenticate you and keep you signed in
- Show birthday pages, wishes, galleries, and live parties to the people who should see them
- Send optional notifications (email, and push or SMS only if you opt in and those are configured)
- Operate, secure, and improve the product
Who helps us run this
We use infrastructure providers to host the app and store data. Today that typically includes Vercel (app hosting) and Supabase (auth, database, file storage, realtime). They process data on our behalf to provide those services. If we add email, SMS, or push delivery, those providers only receive what is needed to send the message.
Sharing
Content on a birthday page is visible to people who are allowed to see that birthday (for example the owner and guests; public pages share what the product shows to visitors). We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service and its users.
Retention
We keep account and birthday data while your account and those birthdays exist. If you want something deleted, contact us and we will help remove it within a reasonable time, except where we need to retain something for security or legal reasons.
Your choices
- You can stop using the service at any time
- You can ask us to delete your account or specific birthday content
- Notification channels are optional where offered
Children
hbd is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do.
